Our name is inspired by Law No. 121 of 2004 of the Republic of San Marino, which repealed Article 274 of the Penal Code that punished homosexual relations under certain circumstances.
The Association pays special, but not exclusive, attention to the rights of the LGBT+ community and to issues related to gender equality and the fight against violence based on sex, gender, sexual orientation and gender identity, in order to
a) promote and implement the full recognition of the rights of the LGBT+ community in the social, cultural and legal context of the Republic of San Marino, also through international partnerships
b) disseminate the culture of equal rights, welcome and contrast all forms of violence and discrimination
c) promote awareness-raising, information and training activities on civil rights issues, in cooperation with institutions, schools, public and private entities and other associations and realities within and outside San Marino. In particular: encouraging the training of school staff in handling students' requests related to the affective sphere also in the LGBT+ sphere. Ensuring appropriate psychological support to students who need it;
d) promote greater awareness on civil rights issues, overcoming prejudice and fighting discrimination in the public opinion through mass media intervention, together with information tools and opportunities;
e) to provide the San Marino community with a reference point to share experiences, make reports and moments of sharing also with the support of professionals and experts
f) urging the government and political forces to implement anti-discrimination good practices, to foster the social inclusion of LGBT+ people;
g) to build dialogue and alliances with other associations, trade unions, social forces and movements in order to strengthen the fight against discrimination and prejudice and contribute to a broadening of freedom and equality for all individuals;
h) to combat discrimination and stereotypes towards people living with HIV, to value and promote their work and presence at all levels;
(i) promote free, informed and aware sexuality, promote sexual health and foster sexuality education taking into account scientific evidence, including knowledge and dissemination of safer sex practices
j) promoting the creation of inclusive family contexts, recognising the value and dignity of rainbow families and providing support to families of LGBT+ people, with special attention to parents, to foster understanding, acceptance and support for their children with a positive and unprejudiced approach, also through the organisation of specific meetings, listening groups in which to share experiences, counselling with experts in the health, psychological and pedagogical fields, and public awareness-raising
k) encourage a responsible and respectful use of digital platforms and collaborate with institutions to develop tools to prevent cyberbullying, including through digital education projects, awareness-raising campaigns against hate speech, listening points and training events run by experts on the subject
l) Ensuring that the principles of equality and inclusion are also respected in the sports world through cooperation with the Cons and San Marino sports federations, through the sharing of good practices against homo-bi-lesbo-transphobia;
m) raising the awareness of San Marino accommodation facilities on the importance of welcoming LGBT+ guests in a respectful manner, also through the cooperation of professional associations and the awarding of a certification/recognition to facilities that stand out for their seriousness and commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment.
