PrEP is a fundamental tool in HIV prevention, and we are pleased to announce that, as of today, the number of the reference clinic is active to make this programme even more accessible.
The service is simple and well structured. Start by contacting the clinic's number: in most cases, an answering machine will provide instructions on how to continue the contact via WhatsApp. At that point, you can send a message briefly explaining your situation and expressing your interest in accessing PrEP.
The infectious disease specialist will then contact you directly to schedule an appointment. During this first visit, an information questionnaire will be completed and some blood tests will be prescribed, to be carried out urgently: the results are generally available in two or three days. If the results are favourable and there are no contraindications, the doctor will proceed with prescribing PrEP.
The medication will most likely be collected directly from the clinic, but the details of the distribution point are still being finalised. Once treatment has begun, quarterly check-ups are scheduled to constantly monitor the patient's health and the effectiveness of the treatment.
For further information, please visit the official website and contact the clinic as indicated. We would like to thank Marco for his commitment and availability: his contribution represents an important step in protecting public health and promoting informed and accessible prevention.
